The NCH Boys Basketball Camp was a huge success again this summer! Camp took place the week of June 13 and included grades 1-9 which were divided into three divisions. The current NCH Boys Basketball players were camp coaches. Their responsibilities were to teach the campers the fundamentals, drills and coach their own basketball team. Our student-athletes did an outstanding job as role models and teaching our future Trojans how to play the game of basketball.
Our guest speaker was Sean O'Mara, a junior forward from the Men's Basketball Team at Xavier University. O'Mara spoke to the campers about what it takes to be a successful student-athlete and that all players must set attainable goals. After camp O'Mara stayed to sign autographs, take pictures and talk to the campers & parents. O'Mara also did a workout with our NCH High School players and taught them some new post moves.
There were a variety of contests, league games and the all important "Campers of the Week". The criteria for COTW included good sportsmanship, being coachable and having a positive attitude.
