JOBS FOR CINCINNATI GRADUATES - JCG

On October 27th, twenty young ladies from JCG (Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates) visited Oakley’s VEGA Americas Company, a production, assembly and processing, advanced manufacturing facility.  The visit was part of the “Making It Real: Girls & Manufacturing” event, designed to familiarize girls in middle and high school with career opportunities in advanced manufacturing.

Organized by Dream It, Do It OKI, the program provides a successful career exploration and planning system, designed especially for area students.  The day included a facility site tour, hands-on demonstrations, student workshops, and a “Women in Manufacturing” panel discussion. Area women, employed in advanced manufacturing leadership positions, participate to help inspire the next generation of young women to become interested in STEM careers.

This annual event is sponsored by Dream It Do It OKI, I Made It in NKY, The Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative, and the Talent Pipeline Initiative.
