Board Members
Lucien Kidd - President
Lucien Kidd is a Finance Director at P&G with over a decade of experience from roles at Kroger, Ernst & Young, and General Electric. A Cincinnati native and 2010 North College Hill graduate, he earned his BBA in Accounting and International Business in 2015 and his MBA from the University of Cincinnati in 2022. Family is central to his life with his wife, Cidnei, and their two children, Liora and Dereion. Passionate about education and mentorship, Lucien serves on the CYC YP Board, the NCH Scholarship Foundation, and the CAA board, and co-chairs the Rising STARs Scholarship program.
Dr. Eugene Blalock - Vice President
Dr. Eugene Blalock, Jr., is currently serving as the Superintendent of North College Hill City School District. With over three decades of experience in the field of education, Dr. Blalock has a rich background as a teacher, administrator, and instructional leader. As a servant leader, Dr. Blalock’s goal is to provide robust support, resources, and opportunities for his students, parents, and staff, ensuring an inclusive and empowering educational environment. Dr. Blalock believes strongly in community service. He sits on the board and belongs to several organizations, where he contributes his expertise and leadership to support his community further.
Michael Calicott Jr. - Treasurer
Michael Calicott is a 2012 graduate of North College Hill High School and a 2016 graduate of Morehouse College, where he earned his B.A. in Business Administration. He’s spent the past decade working in banking and finance, first with JPMorgan Chase and later with UBS, where he focused on treasury, funding and liquidity management.
Michael enjoys helping people make sense of complex financial systems and is passionate about supporting small businesses and community growth. Outside of work, he loves hiking, reading, and spending time with his wife, Shoshana, and their French Bulldog.
Marvin Kolodzik
Marvin Kolodzik graduated from North College Hill High School in 1954 and from the University of Cincinnati in 1959. After college, he spent three years working in Hong Kong before building a successful career at Emerson Electric Co., where he retired as President of the Power Transmission Division.
In 2004, Marvin and several high school friends founded the North College Hill Scholarship Foundation with an initial gift of $150,000. Since retiring, he’s remained deeply involved with the University of Cincinnati’s Lindner College of Business, where he established an endowment that became the Kolodzik Business Scholars program. Today, more than 140 students receive scholarships each year through KBS.
Marvin and his wife are avid duplicate bridge players and have competed in national tournaments across the U.S. and Canada — including Honolulu, Toronto, and Vancouver.
Michael Slaughter
Mike Slaughter is the founder and chief strategist of Passionate Churches, LLC and pastor emeritus of Ginghamsburg Church, where he served for nearly four decades as attendance grew from 90 to 4,500. A spiritual entrepreneur, he pioneered small-group and online ministry and now helps church leaders maximize impact. A passionate advocate for the underserved, his leadership has driven over $9 million toward agriculture, clean water, education, and global malaria initiatives. An ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, Mike holds a Doctor of Ministry and honorary Doctor of Divinity, has authored multiple books, and earned several national leadership and evangelism awards.
Jonathan Slaughter
Dr. Jonathan B. Slaughter is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. His expertise includes sports medicine, fracture care, and upper extremity arthritis. Dr. Slaughter sees patients at the Florence and Highland Heights (NKU) locations. Beyond his practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, fishing, hiking, and reading. He is also passionate about mission trips and global health, using his skills to serve communities in need around the world.
Nicole Elmore
Nicole Elmore is a school counselor at North College Hill High School and has been part of the NCH Scholarship Foundation Board since the 2024–2025 school year. This year marks her 10th year as a school counselor, her 4th year at North College Hill, and her 2nd year serving on the board.
Nicole is passionate about supporting students both academically and personally. Two years ago, she helped one of her freshman students launch the school’s first Mental Health Fair — an event that was so well-received it earned a nomination for the Upstander of the Year Award. At that event, she even had the chance to sit next to Jim and Robin Burrow, parents of NFL quarterback Joe Burrow.
Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her students and community, always finding new ways to help young people grow and thrive.
Abby Kemphaus
Abby Kemphaus has been teaching English at North College Hill High School for 21 years. She currently serves on the North College Hill Scholarship Foundation Board, where she has been an active member for the past five years. Abby is also part of the Coach B. Memorial Scholarship Committee, which has proudly funded a scholarship in his memory for the last nine years. Her husband graduated from NC.H. in 2002, and her father-in-law holds the record for most varsity boys basketball wins with 268. In her free time, Abby enjoys reading, traveling, and attending her two sons’ sporting events.
